The past 2 and 1/2 months have been so full. There’s been a lot of school work but also a lot of growing, learning, discovering, creating, serving and loving going on. Here are a few snap shots… 2016 began with a celebration at our abode with the Church Family. In the month of January,… Continue reading Filled Up
It was 2 weeks ago, Christmas Day. My family was roughly 2.5 hours into our weekend-before-finals getaway. We were listening to A Veggie Tales Christmas Party for probably the 97th time in our lives.
It’s been a tradition, time out of mind, to listen to this every Christmas Season (often several times a season). This was the first listening of the 2015 season.
We sung along with Larry and Manuel on Feliz Navidad (“Which means ‘Merry Christmas’, in Spanish. It also has some other words which mean, ‘I wish you a prosperous year and happiness’. Right Manuel?”).
Celebrate It’s just been one of those weeks fortnights, you know. Bad news, scary news, heartbreaking events, discouraging results, no progress, too much to do, tough situations, discouraging conversations, worried/weepy nights, stressful/sweaty days, not enough sleep, sleeping too much, too cold, too hot, not fast enough … Not thankful enough. In the middle of a rough couple of weeks,… Continue reading Five Minute Friday: Celebrate

It was about 11 PM on a Thursday night. My sister and I were trying to get ready for bed. My brothers were trying to delay bedtime as long as possible. I was also trying to decided what recipe I wanted to make next for my Summer Recipe Challenge. I had opened the Pintrest app on… Continue reading SRC Week 2 : Indian Food
Summer Time is half way between unbearable heat and cold running water; the most hated insects in the world and the most beautiful and fascinating ones; working like a dog and sleeping like an old mutt; eating like a five-year-old and feasting like a king; playing like children and remembering day’s past like old folks would;… Continue reading Summer Time Adventure
So this past Thursday I made my first new recipe for the summer. At first, I wasn’t sure what to make, but I found out we had some thick pork chops in the freezer, and I eventually settled on this recipe for Korean Style pork chops. I did make a few alterations because we didn’t have every single ingredient.
I like to make lists at New Years. I wouldn’t call them resolutions as much as they are goals for the year. Some of them are random, like: Start a blog. Only post when I have something to say/show; never apologize for not posting. Or, Learn to play the organ.
